SOCIALIZING WITH CLIENTS WILL ENABLE YOU TO REAP REWARDS THAT WILL LAST A LIFETIME

Robin Jay's Surefire Method to Increase Sales, Build Business

Motivational Speaker Robin Jay’s Method to Increase Sales and Build Business: Socialize with Your Clients & Prospects!

Answer this honestly: When was the last time you socialized with your clients? When was the last time you took a client out to lunch or dinner, had clients to your home for dinner, got up early for a breakfast meeting, or enjoyed a golf outing with a client? If you can’t remember, it’s definitely time to make some changes and discover the BENEFITS of socializing with clients and prospects.

As “The Queen of the Business Lunch™”, I personally hosted more than 3,000 client lunches and I saw my sales increase by more than 2,000%! I am a Business Relationship Expert and I know what I’m talking about … I can help anyone to become a Business Relationship Expert, too. Think about this – more than 10 years after I resigned from my career in advertising sales, I continue to get calls from – and socialize with – former clients. That is a powerful testimonial to the possibility of what can be achieved when you entertain clients the right way!

NOT A SHOCKER: PEOPLE PREFER TO DO BUSINESS WITH PEOPLE THEY LIKE!

There are some differences with regard to how business is conducted today compared to 20 – or even 10 – years ago, but the bottom line never changes: People prefer to do business with people they LIKE! If your mother used to tell you that life is not a popularity contest, I can assure you she was not talking about the business world. We all have choices. Think about your own experience as a customer or client.

Have you ever gone out of your way to patronize a less-convenient establishment rather than the one that is right around the corner (think sushi restaurant, dry cleaner, drug store, etc.), because you preferred how they treat you at the less-convenient establishment? Of COURSE you have! It’s not a shocker to learn that NO ONE wants to do business with someone they don’t like or trust. As a SALES SPEAKER, whenever I’m in front of an audience, I ask for a show of hands in response to this question. Can you guess how many hands go up? ALL OF THEM! That’s right – because people have choices … and they WANT to work with people they LIKE!

There are a lot of things that can go wrong IF you aren’t familiar with what it takes to entertain clients the “right” way. It is not at ALL the same as entertaining friends or family. Unfortunately, getting clients out of an office setting so they will relax and let their guard down may also have that same effect on you; you might relax so much you forget you’re with CLIENTS!!!

THE BIGGEST MISTAKE YOU CAN MAKE SOCIALIZING WITH CLIENTS IS…

Caution: Do Not Relax! This is still WORK! It can be fun, it will definitely be productive, and you will see results almost immediately. And, while you can appear relaxed, never forget that socializing with clients is not the same as socializing with friends.

As digital communications consume more and more of our time, it’s a bit more challenging today to get a client out of their office, but trust me – it’s worth it. The dividends will be impressive. This is also where we have to get creative; we need to come up with special, irresistible invitations and events to entice our clients to leave the safety of their four office walls. These invitations include private dinners with VIP guests, rounds of golf at a country club, exclusive dinners out, or very special parties. I was extolling the virtues of entertaining clients at home a few years ago when my friend Phil, who happens to be a very successful marketing consultant, said, “You’re right! Come to think of it, I’ve never lost a client who has been to my home for dinner!” His enthusiastic statement inspired me to share what I know about entertaining clients. This information takes “The Art of the Business Lunch” to elevated new heights.

Entertaining your clients will grow your business – and INCREASE SALES exponentially because once someone becomes a fan of yours, they will ALWAYS buy from you – no matter WHAT you are selling. If you never lose another client, you’ll not only increase sales, but you’ll see your business grow more than you ever thought possible!
